Got a 30 day ban from a local group for posting about a city council vote

It was over a vote on a new park rule. I posted the full text of the proposal, which was long, and asked if people had read it. The mod said it was 'spam' and blocked me for a month. My choice was to just leave the group or find another way to talk about it. I picked making a simple website with a friend. We put the proposal there, broke it down, and shared the link in other spots. It got more reads than my original post ever did. The ban felt bad at first, but it pushed me to try something new. Has anyone else had to move a conversation off a platform after getting shut down?

Guess my spam is just... trying to get people to read things.

Wow, that's not really spam though, is it? Spam is usually ads or scams, not sharing public info. Good on you for finding another way to get the word out.

Define spam for me then, because I've had people call any repeated post spam.
