Got banned from a book club for pointing out the author's views changed between editions

I was in this online book club for about 6 months. We read a popular science book and I noticed the 2021 edition had totally different stats and a new chapter that contradicted the 2018 version. I posted a side-by-side comparison showing how the author flipped his stance on climate data. The mod said I was 'spreading misinformation' and banned me. Three other members messaged me privately saying they saw the same thing. Has anyone else found major differences between book editions that got you silenced?

Three people started that club and 50 got banned. Yeah that makes total sense.
