Got banned from a woodworking forum for posting a moisture meter test, started my own subreddit and got 40 members in a week
Two years ago I posted side by side readings from a $30 meter and a $140 one on some wet maple, and a mod pulled it down saying 'unapproved brand promotion.' I tried to argue it was just data but they muted me for a month. Made my own subreddit that night called r/HonestWoodTalk, and by Sunday it had 40 members and a guy from Ohio asking me to test his walnut. Turns out a lot of people just want the numbers without the drama. Anybody else start their own spot after getting the boot from a bigger board?
