Got kicked off a homeowner forum for calling out bad wiring advice
I was on a diy home repair forum last month and someone posted about running new outlets off an existing 15 amp circuit with 14 gauge wire. I pointed out that if you're adding more than a couple outlets you need to check total load first and they banned me for 'gatekeeping'. The mod said I was being elitist. Has anyone else gotten banned from a forum just for trying to keep people safe?

It's like people want blind reassurance over actual facts these days.

Yeah I used to think the same way honestly. But then I saw how people actually process information and it's more about feeling safe than being right. Facts don't help when someone's scared.
