Got kicked out of my neighborhood Facebook group for posting a photo of a squirrel

This was 2 months ago in my town of Oakville. I took a picture of this squirrel that was literally opening a bag of chips on my porch and captioned it 'look who we elected as HOA president.' The admin said I was 'creating division' and banned me. I made a new account with my cat's name and now I just post memes about raccoons. Has anyone else been booted from a local group for something completely harmless?

Man I feel your pain. I got the boot from my town's "Buy Nothing" group for posting a free couch and saying "first come first served, honest people only." Someone complained that I was being "judgmental" and the admin backed them up. What actually worked for me was starting a completely separate group specifically for goofy local animal photos. I called it "Our Town's Wild Roommates" and now it's got like 300 people just posting squirrels stealing stuff and raccoons falling asleep in bird baths. We got so many members the original group's admin actually tried to join but I politely told him his vibe was too divisive for our raccoon content.

The raccoon memes are probably better content anyway. My neighbor got banned from the local lost pets group for posting a "missing" flyer for her pet rock.

Oh man, my friend's cat tried to join a "found dog" post once and got roasted in the comments.
