Got my account back after 3 appeals but they only restored 60% of my deleted posts
Made a comment in a local Facebook buy-nothing group about how the town council wasted money on new sidewalks instead of fixing the potholes first. The mod banned me for "spreading misinformation" but I kept submitting appeals every 2 weeks until someone finally reviewed it. Has anyone else had luck with the long game on forum bans?

Did your appeal have to go through the same mod each time? I had a buddy who got banned from a car forum for posting photos of his restored pickup. He kept resubmitting his appeal every two weeks with the same explanation, nothing changed for like four months. Then one day a different moderator picked it up, saw the photos were just his own work, and unbanned him plus restored everything. He said the whole time he figured it was a lost cause but the persistence paid off.

Three appeals over three months finally got my ban reversed on a local gardening group. Just keep submitting and eventually you'll get someone who actually reads the context.

Used to think appeals were a total waste of time, that once a mod banned you it was over. But hearing stories like this and the gardening guy, maybe I should try the long game next time I get kicked out of a group.
