Got silenced in a local Facebook group for posting a city council meeting recording
Last month I recorded a 45-minute city council meeting in Wichita where they quietly voted to cut library funding by 30%. I posted the clip in a local community group and the mods deleted it within an hour, saying it was "disruptive" and "unverified." I ended up starting a tiny YouTube channel just for these recordings, and now I share the link in private messages to anyone who asks. Has anyone else found a workaround when local groups shut down public info like that?

Try saving the video to Archive.org before posting anywhere. That way when mods delete it you still have a permanent copy with a timestamp. You can also make a Google Doc with the transcript (I use Otter.ai for that, it's free) and share the link in comments so people can read it before the mods scrub it. Mods hate text more than video for some reason, maybe because they have to actually read to confirm it's real.
