Got temp-banned from a gardening forum for saying store-bought soil is fine

Last month I posted in a local gardening group about how I top-dress my raised beds with cheap bagged compost every spring and my tomatoes do just fine. Some mod with a 900-square-foot backyard lab went off that I was spreading misinformation and hit me with a 7-day ban. The funny part is 14 people messaged me privately saying they do the same thing but were scared to say it publicly. I guess the takeaway is that niche communities can get real rigid about the 'right' way, even when results are right there. Has anyone else gotten banned for suggesting the simpler, cheaper route in a hobby group?
