Got the boot from a local gardening group for posting a weird seed fact

I was reading this old botany book from the library and found out a single sunflower head can have up to 2000 seeds. I posted that in our town's gardening Facebook group with a picture. The admin deleted it and said it was 'off topic spam' because I didn't ask a question. I argued that cool facts are part of learning, and they banned me for 'stirring trouble.' Now I just tell my sunflower fact to anyone who will listen at the actual community garden. Anyone else get banned for sharing a random piece of info?

Guess they only want posts about aphids and complaining about the weather.

But groups do need rules to stay on topic...
