I finally got shut down for calling out a bad fire escape plan at my building

Last Tuesday our landlord posted a new evacuation map that routes everyone through the same stairwell. I pointed out that's a single point of failure, especially with 40 units here in Portland, and the property manager banned me from the resident Facebook group. Now I print paper flyers and slide them under doors, but honestly, is that worth the hassle? Has anyone else dealt with condo board retaliation for asking basic safety questions?

Seems like you're taking the right approach with the flyers, actually. I had a similar thing happen with my old building and what finally worked was emailing the city's fire marshal directly. They take stuff like this way more seriously than the landlord does, and it costs you zero hassle.
