I thought 'just post it on 3 sites at once' was dumb until my r/offmychest ban got 40k reads elsewhere
Six months ago a mod on a big advice sub banned me for a comment about my old boss, and I did the usual thing, made a new account, got caught in a week. Then a guy in a Discord for writers said stop fighting the ban and just copy your post to other places, so I tried it with one rant about getting laid off in Baltimore. I put the same text on a personal blog, a Medium page, and a small forum I barely used, and the blog version hit 40k reads in 9 days while the sub that banned me only had 12k members total. The trick was linking nothing at first, just letting people find it, then adding one line at the end saying 'this got removed somewhere else, here is where I keep posting' after the post already had traction. I also started saving every post as a plain text file on my laptop so no platform can wipe it, and that file has 31 posts in it now. I used to think reposting was just spam and that a ban meant you lost, but losing one room does not mean losing the whole building. What sites do you cross post to that actually let the thing stay up?
Laughing at the idea that a ban is some kind of death sentence when your blog post pulled 40k reads and the sub that booted you only has 12k people in it. That math is brutal and I love it. Saving everything as plain text files is the real move though, I do the same thing plus drop copies on Substack and a couple of old school forums, they basically never take stuff down since nobody is moderating hard. The link at the end after it already popped off is smart, early links get you flagged as spam every time.
