Pro tip: don't let an HOA board member tell you what you can and can't say in a public meeting.
Back in Austin last year, my HOA president said I couldn't talk about the $200 fee increase at the open forum because it "wasn't on the agenda." I pulled up the Texas Property Code on my phone and read the part about open meetings rights out loud. Has anyone else had to quote state law just to get a word in?

Man, that takes some guts to just pull out the law like that in front of everyone. Good on you for standing your ground, that's exactly the kind of thing more people need to do.
