That mod's critique about my sourcing made me restructure my whole post style

I got a 3 day ban on a local news sub for posting a story about my neighborhood's zoning fight without linking the city council PDF, and the mod told me my argument looked like rumor. Now I always include primary documents first and save opinion for the last paragraph. Does anyone else bend their writing to fit moderation rules, or do you stand firm and take the strikes?
