That week I got banned from a local history group for a 1920s newspaper clipping

I posted an article from the local library archives about a labor strike downtown in 1923, and the mod said it was 'too divisive for current politics.' I thought it was just dusty old news, but they deleted it and kicked me out in under 10 minutes. Has anyone else had a decades-old fact get you silenced?

My buddy once got booted from a gardening forum for posting a 1950s photo of his grandpa's victory garden because someone claimed it "glorified wartime propaganda." People really out here policing dirt clods from seventy years ago.

Best bet is to screenshot everything and save the original source first. Then message the mods privately asking which specific rule it broke and ask for the exact wording from their guidelines. If they dodge it or make something up, you can appeal to the higher level admins on whatever platform it was and show them the whole chain. Just be calm and matter of fact about it, don't get emotional or they'll write you off as a troublemaker. Saved my own skin twice that way when mods got trigger happy on old newspaper articles nobody alive even remembers.
