The HOA banned my Halloween skeleton for being 'too political'
Last October, I put up a 6-foot skeleton in a cowboy hat. The HOA sent a letter saying it was 'disruptive to community harmony.' I asked them to explain how a plastic skeleton was political. They never answered, so I just put it back up. Anyone else deal with overly creative HOA rules?

It is literally just a skeleton in a hat, what is wrong with them?

Have you ever really looked at it, though? Yeah it's just bones but there's something about how simple it is that gets me. It's not trying to be scary or dramatic, it's just there. Like a memento mori or whatever, reminding you we're all gonna end up like that someday. Wearing that silly hat makes it feel almost human, like we're all just skeletons trying to dress up and pretend we're fine. I think that's why people get so worked up about it, it hits too close to home.
