Warning: a bot in r/gardening banned me for asking if mulch goes under tomatoes, so I started my own blog
Two weeks ago I asked a simple question in r/gardening about whether mulch goes under or around tomato plants, and a mod bot nuked my account in under 30 seconds for "low effort content." I appealed with a screenshot and a real paragraph, and the bot just replied with the same canned line about rule 4. So I did the stubborn thing and started a tiny blog on a free site, and 11 people actually read my first write-up about mulch depth. My tomato plants are fine by the way, and the blog is now at day 9 with zero bans. Has anyone else had a bot ban them for a one line question, and did you fight it or just move to your own corner of the internet?
How is a bot supposed to know your question is real and not spam? Low karma accounts ask stuff like that all day, so the mods set it to auto nuke and it works most of the time. Blogging to 11 readers because you got a canned reply seems like a lot of work over one ban.
