Am I the only one who got banned from a photo site for a casual critique?
I miss when photo sharing felt like just showing your work. A few years back, I got banned from a popular app for saying a common editing style looked overdone. I didn't know that kind of talk broke their rules. After that, I made a point to actually read the app's community standards before posting. Now I always check what counts as okay speech on any new platform. It's wild how much tighter the rules have gotten over time. At least I learned to dodge more bans by paying attention first.

Feel like honesty got outlawed. I posted that a sunset looked fake because the colors were cranked to neon, and boom, warning for being negative. Called out a portrait where the skin smoothing erased all pores, like a plastic doll, and got a temp ban for "unhelpful feedback." Where's the line between a tip and an insult? Now I just type "great lighting" and move on. Why even have comment sections if every real thought gets you in trouble?

Got banned from a photo group for joking that a heavily filtered pic looked like a cartoon. My dumb attempt at humor got me kicked out fast. Now I read the rules like they're a secret code. Sometimes I wonder if I'm too honest for my own good. Guess I'll never be a pro critic.
