Am I the only one who got blocked from a carpentry chat over glue types?

I said white glue works for most joints, but purists called it weak. Do you think strong views should get you silenced?

Those purists are ridiculous. Getting blocked over glue is classic gatekeeping nonsense.

Ever tried using Titebond instead of hide glue for a simple repair? I got chewed out at a club meet once for using modern glue on an old chair leg. The piece held fine for years, but you'd think I committed a crime. That kind of purity just gets in the way of fixing things, it's silly.
