Got a 30-day ban on a local news site for pointing out a factual error in their article about pressure washing chemical runoff.
I linked to the city's actual environmental guidelines pdf, which contradicted their claim, and the mod said I was 'spreading misinformation' and being 'confrontational', so has anyone else been banned for correcting a site with their own official sources?

Actually, that's just how mods are sometimes.

That city PDF probably listed the specific chemical concentration limits, right? It's wild they'd call their own published rules misinformation, which makes me wonder if the reporter just didn't do the reading. What was the exact error they printed?

Did you try messaging the mods directly with a quick "hey, wasn't trying to be rude, just linking the city's own guidelines?" Worked for me once when I corrected a local paper's zoning article.
