Got banned from a gardening app for saying my succulents died from too much love

I commented on someone's post that I watered my jade plant every day for two weeks and the mods hit me with a 'misinformation about plant care' warning then a permaban. Has anyone else been kicked for sharing what actually happened to them instead of textbook advice?

My buddy got temp-banned from a fishkeeping forum for saying his betta got dropsy from overfeeding (he was just trying to be helpful, you know?). They claimed he was spreading dangerous myths about pellet portions, even though his vet confirmed it.

Idk what it is with some of those niche forums man, they get so weird about rules. I seen similar stuff happen on reptile groups where people share basic vet advice and get jumped for not following the "official" care sheet from 2005. @the_william your buddy probably just ran into a mod who was having a bad day or something. Dropsy from overfeeding isn't some crazy idea, vets say it can happen when fish get too bloated and their organs start failing. Maybe it's just me but that forum sounds like it needs to chill with the gatekeeping. Some folks take their fishkeeping way too seriously like it's a science journal and not a hobby where people learn from mistakes. I get that bad info spreads fast online, but banning someone for repeating actual vet advice is backwards. Your buddy should just screenshot the vet's note and post it somewhere else where people aren't so trigger happy with the ban hammer.
