Got banned from a local gardening forum for saying native plants aren't always better

Last month I posted in a neighborhood gardening group that my xeriscape project failed because the native seeds just wouldn't sprout after 6 weeks of drought. I suggested mixing in some non-native drought-tolerant plants and the admin booted me within an hour. Is it fair to get kicked out for questioning a hard rule like that or should I just stick to the script next time?

Might just be a mod having a rough day. Plants aren't exactly controversial unless you're in a gardening sub that's super strict.
