Got blocked from a Facebook woodworking group over a walnut vs poplar comment, now I can't see my own build thread
Four days ago I was in a Facebook group called Mid-Atlantic Woodworkers, about 12,000 members, and a guy posted his first cutting board asking if the dark streaks were a defect. I said walnut grain does that, it's normal, and if he wanted an even look he should pick poplar and stain it. That was it. No cussing, no insults. A mod replied that I was "discouraging new makers" and banned me for 30 days. The problem is my own build thread, a 6 month long oak dining table with 40 something progress pics, lives in that group and now I can't even open it to save the photos. I messaged two mods and got no answer, and the appeal button just loops back to the same page. Has anybody gotten unbanned from a group like this, or figured out a way to pull your old photos out before the ban is up?
