Got flagged for saying 'pineapple on pizza is fine' in a food group
I posted a simple comment about pineapple on pizza being a decent topping, and the mods banned me for 'promoting controversial food opinions' within 10 minutes. Took me 3 days and 5 appeals to get unbanned, only to find out the mod was a hardcore Italian chef from Naples who took it personally. Has anyone else gotten booted for something this silly?

Wait, isn't pineapple on pizza just fruit on bread with cheese, not exactly a war crime? Seems like the mod took their job way too seriously if they spent three days fighting over pizza toppings. Maybe they should have just left your comment alone and moved on.

Yeah honestly I used to be on the other side of this, calling pineapple pizza a crime against food and all that. But reading through this whole mess, I'm starting to see it's really not that deep, it's just sweet and salty on a cheese bread. Kinda makes me feel dumb for ever getting worked up over something so trivial, you know?

Right, that line about "fruit on bread with cheese" is pretty spot on. Honestly, if you break pizza down, it's just bread, sauce, cheese, and toppings. Throwing some grilled pineapple on there is basically like putting capicola or prosciutto on a melon salad, same sweet and salty thing. It's wild how a food that's so simple can get people so riled up, feels like the mods were just looking for a reason to swing the ban hammer over nothing.
