I compared Nextdoor and a local Facebook group for neighborhood issues... big difference

Tried posting about a busted streetlight on Nextdoor and got flagged for 'not following community guidelines' within an hour. Same post in a local Facebook group for our 5-block area in Austin got 30 replies and the city fixed it in 3 days. The Nextdoor mods seem to shadowban anything that sounds like a complaint even if it's just asking for help. Anyone else have way better luck with one platform over the other for real neighborhood stuff?

Have you noticed that platforms with the most rules tend to help people the least?

Honestly I used to be a Nextdoor defender, thought the rules kept things civil. But seeing your experience and my own similar runaround with a loose manhole cover that took weeks to even get approved, yeah Facebook groups just get stuff done faster with way less gatekeeping. Kinda makes you wonder if all those "guidelines" are really about helping the community or just controlling what people can talk about.
