I got banned from a big car forum for saying I liked the old Ford Ranger better than the new one
I posted a long list of reasons, like the 2011 model's simple frame and how cheap parts were. I said the new one felt like a fancy truck for people who don't actually haul stuff. A mod said I was 'spreading negativity' and banned me for a week. Has anyone else been banned for just preferring an older version of something?

Man, it's everywhere now! You can't even say an old toaster worked better without someone acting like you insulted their family.

That "spreading negativity" line is such a weak excuse. It's not negative, it's a real opinion about tools versus toys. Forums used to be for hard talks about what actually works. Now they're run by people who see any criticism of a new model as a personal attack on their favorite brand. It feels like they just want a happy echo chamber to keep the hype train going for new sales. Your ban proves you hit a nerve they don't want touched.
