PSA: My cooking group ban started with a passive-aggressive 'recipe tip'

Got banned from a Facebook cooking group for 30 days after posting that a viral 'hack' for cutting onions was actually dangerous with mandoline slicers, you know, the whole finger-saving thing. What tipped me off was when the admin messaged me privately saying my 'tone' was 'disrespectful to new cooks', even though I just linked a safety guide from our local extension office in Austin. Turns out the admin was the one who posted the hack originally, and she had been wiping any criticism for months. I checked the group rules afterward, and 'no safety corrections' was buried in paragraph 6. Has anyone else gotten punished for just trying to keep people from losing digits?

So did she actually admit that she was deleting the comments, or did she just dance around it when you called her out? Cause that's the key part for me, if she was quietly nuking every warning about the mandoline thing, then the rule about "no safety corrections" was never about keeping things friendly, it was about protecting her own post. I've seen this happen in local gardening groups too, where a mod posts some shady tip and then acts like anyone who questions it is being mean to beginners. Seems like some folks treat their little corner of Facebook like a personal kingdom and can't handle being wrong in public. Did you screenshot anything before she hit you with the ban hammer? Cause that's the kind of thing you could take to the group meta page or start your own spin-off group with.
