Rant: got a 30 day ban from a fishing forum in Denver for saying limits should be lower on a stocked lake
Mods over at that forum pulled my post in 20 minutes and banned me for 30 days after I said the daily limit on a stocked lake near Denver should drop from 4 fish to 2. Half the replies agreed with me and the other half called me a snitch who wants to ruin the sport, so I still can't tell if I broke a real rule or just made the wrong people mad. What gets me is the same guys bragging about keeping 4 fish every trip are the ones saying the lake is fished out. Anyone been banned somewhere for a take like this, and did appealing it ever work?
Check whether that lake is even managed by the state or if it's a metro district deal, because that changes everything about who sets the limit. A lot of those small stocked ponds around Denver are run by city or county parks departments, not CPW, and the people making the rules often have zero clue about fish counts. If it's a metro district, the forum mods might actually be tight with whoever runs the place, which would explain why a simple limit suggestion got you the boot so fast. That's the part nobody brings up in these fights, it's not always about biology, sometimes it's about who you ticked off.
