Shoutout to the guy at the town hall meeting in Concord who made me rethink noise ordinances

I always thought strict noise laws were just for grumpy people who hate fun. But after listening to a dad talk about his kid with sensory issues trying to sleep through construction blasting at 7am, it clicked for me. I run a roofing crew, and we usually start loud work early, but now I schedule demo for 9am in residential areas near Concord. Has anyone else found a compromise that keeps neighbors happy without killing your schedule?

Noisy roofer learns empathy after one dad's story, maybe I'm getting soft in my old age.

Roofers showing up at 7am is the worst. What worked for me was actually talking to the foreman face to face. I told him straight up my kid has sensory issues and the banging sets him off. He swapped their start time to 9am and kept the banging to the far side of the roof. Just being real about your situation can change things a lot, even with guys who seem loud and careless.
