Warning: I got a permanent ban from a big parenting forum for a single comment about sleep training.
I used to post there all the time, sharing my night shift nurse perspective on infant sleep. Last Tuesday, I replied to a thread saying 'Crying it out worked for us in 3 nights, it's not neglect.' My account was gone by morning with a message citing 'harmful advice.' Now I just lurk and don't share my real experience anymore. Has anyone else been banned for a totally mainstream parenting opinion?

My first kid we did cry it out at nine months. Then I read the actual brain scan studies on prolonged infant distress. I don't judge anyone, but I won't do it again.

The parenting forum ban hammer is a special kind of internet justice. They treat a common opinion like a war crime, then wonder why the place becomes an echo chamber. Guess we're all just supposed to read the same book and never talk.
