I used to think meme bans were just about bad jokes

Last Thursday, I saw a simple cartoon about a local election get removed from a big social site. It wasn't hateful, just poked fun at a candidate's old promise. The notice said it violated 'community standards' but gave no real reason. That same week, three friends in different countries said they saw similar things vanish. It made me realize it's not just about content, it's about who gets to decide what political speech is okay. Has anyone else had a meme about a local issue get taken down?

Yeah, that "who gets to decide" part is the real problem. It feels like the rules just get made up as they go.

Clear rules help keep things from getting out of hand.
