My post about the 'delivery day' meme got taken down on a big platform last Tuesday, and I'm stuck between thinking it's just a joke and seeing it as a real free speech problem.

On one side, I get that some memes can be mean or cause real trouble, but on the other, when a simple joke about my job gets banned, it feels like they're just shutting down regular talk, so where do you draw the line between moderating a platform and just censoring people?

Tuesday, March 14th was when my cousin's meme about waitressing got removed, and it was literally just her complaining about a table that didn't tip. I get what you're saying about the line between moderation and censorship, it feels like these platforms make up the rules as they go. But I think the real issue is that the rules are so vague, one person's harmless joke is another person's violation, and they don't explain why. They just yank it down with a generic message, and that's what makes it feel like censorship instead of actual moderation. So yeah, I think you're right to be stuck on this, it's a messy gray area where nobody really knows where the line is supposed to be.

Is there a chance her cousin's post crossed a line without realizing it, like naming the restaurant or the customers? I've seen posts get taken down for stuff that seemed innocent until you actually read the fine print.
