Tried to post a Pepe meme on a history forum and got banned within an hour
I thought it was just a harmless frog picture from a comic, but the mods said it was a hate symbol. They gave me a permanent ban with no warning. I looked it up afterward and learned about the whole ADL hate symbol database. Has anyone else run into a situation where a meme they thought was silly got them into real trouble online?

Bruh I posted a "Hide the Pain Harold" on a finance sub and got a 3 day suspension for "low effort content" lmao. At least yours had some drama behind it, mine was just a sad stock photo of a guy holding his head.

Wait wait wait, so they suspended you for three days over a "Hide the Pain Harold" meme? That's wild because that meme is basically a whole financial advice sub on its own. But what I'm wondering is, did the mod actually explain the difference between "low effort" and just a dumb meme, or did they just drop the ban hammer with no explanation? Seems like your post was even more on point than mine, since you were actually trying to make a point about something. I bet if you'd posted it in a meme group instead, they'd have given you a medal, not a suspension.
