Vent: Found out the 'offensive' meme I got banned for was actually reposting a government satire site's work
I was scrolling through a legal analysis blog and discovered the meme I posted that got me banned from Facebook was literally just a screenshot from a .gov satire site that's been online since 2012, which makes me wonder how many of these 'hate speech' bans are actually targeting legitimate political commentary by accident.

2012? That's wild, they've been flagging that old stuff as hate speech?

Best thing to do is screenshot it right now and save it locally. Had a buddy get hit with a similar flag on a post from 2009, took him weeks to get it reviewed because the appeals process is a joke. Archive the page on Wayback Machine too just in case they delete it. Then send a short appeal saying it's old content with zero context around it, keep it simple and don't argue. Chances are it'll get overturned if you're not being combative about it.
