Vent: My $80 web filter subscription turned me into a free speech hypocrite

I used to think paid filters were the answer to ban dodging in my feeds, but after running one for 2 weeks in Portland, I saw how it quietly blocked satire and protest memes from other countries. It wasn't the government, it was me paying to censor myself. Anyone else spent cash on a tool that ended up working against their own views?

Ugh, that's rough. My buddy Tom threw $60 at one of those and it kept killing memes his overseas friends sent, even the harmless ones. He canceled it after a week and now just blocks people manually, way less stressful lol.
