Vent: That banned 'maskless kid' meme I defended turned out to be total BS
I spent like 20 minutes arguing with my cousin last month about a meme showing a kid in a grocery store without a mask getting yelled at by an employee. Turns out the original video was from 2019 before any mask rules even existed and someone just added the audio. Anyone else feel dumb after realizing they got played by a heavily edited meme that got banned for a good reason?

Hey, I actually see it a little differently. Lots of memes get edited and passed around but the core point about harsh enforcement was still a real thing people were frustrated about.

Oh man, that reminds me of this time my buddy tried to pass off a screenshot of a fake parking ticket as proof the city was out to get him. He spent like an hour ranting about the fine being too high before someone pointed out the font was Comic Sans. The funny thing is, even with the fake ticket, his core complaint about the street sweeping schedule being impossible to follow was totally legit. I guess memes can be a messy way to make a point, but there's usually a real frustration buried in there somewhere.
