Disinvited speaker at CSU East Bay cost us $3,200 in wasted setup fees
Last month I helped organize a public lecture on campus about local water rights. The speaker was a former city planner, not some radical, but the student government pulled the invite after 40 students signed a petition calling his views 'problematic.' We still paid the AV company and catering because the cancellation came 48 hours before the event. Has anyone else had a speaker pulled over a petition that small?
