Got shut down by a professor for asking about opposing viewpoints in a poli sci class at Ohio State last semester.
I raised my hand to ask if we could discuss the other side of an argument about campus carry laws and she told me that perspective wasn't welcome in her classroom, so I just sat there for the rest of the hour wondering if anyone else has dealt with a professor flat out refusing to let you question the material.

Man, that's rough. I had a similar thing happen at Columbus State back in 2014 when I was taking an intro to sociology course, the professor just cut me off mid-sentence for questioning a statistic about crime rates. It's a real bad feeling when you realize the person in charge of the classroom isn't interested in letting you think for yourself, just recite what they want to hear.

Eh, you might be reading too much into it. Professors have to keep class moving, sometimes they cut people off by accident.
