My campus removed a flyer for a debate on fossil fuel divestment last month

They said the topic was 'too divisive' and could 'disrupt campus harmony'. Has anyone else seen a simple policy discussion get shut down like that?

That's pretty weak. Campus harmony sounds like code for avoiding hard talks.

Haha, fair point from @the_tyler. My idea of campus harmony is just me hoping no one yells before I finish my coffee.

Avoiding conflict just lets problems get worse. Real harmony comes from talking through tough issues, not dodging them.
