My friend's flyer got taken down for 'inciting debate' at our state school

He wanted to put up a simple flyer last Thursday for a discussion on free speech itself, just asking 'What can't we talk about here?'. Campus staff removed it within 2 hours, saying it was 'unapproved content likely to incite debate'. It was literally about having a conversation, lol. Has anyone else had something this basic get shut down for just asking a question?

Wait, isn't the whole point of a school to have debates? I used to think campus rules were just about keeping things orderly, but seeing stuff like this makes me question it. If a flyer asking about free speech gets pulled for starting debate, what's even allowed anymore? That's just backwards.

Honestly, what if the rules aren't about order but about avoiding bad press?

Call it what it is. Bad press control. That's all this is. They don't want anyone outside the school seeing students argue over something real like censorship or free speech. Looks bad for the image. That flyer got pulled because it's easier to kill the debate than to explain why it's happening in the first place.
