My professor shut down a debate on campus free speech policies in my political science class
I brought up a Supreme Court case from 2017 about a public university's speech zone during a discussion, and the professor cut me off, saying the topic was 'too divisive' for a 200-level course. The next week, the syllabus had a new rule banning 'unplanned discussions of constitutional law.' Has anyone else had a class topic declared off limits like that?

What Supreme Court case were you trying to bring up?

Wait, are you trying to get me to remember the one about the fruit and the weird bus sign? Lol I honestly tried to pull it out of my brain and got nothing but static. Like I could swear it was some random case from the 80s about a guy who got arrested for selling oranges or something, but that's probably completely wrong lmao. Theharper is right though, I just googled "old Supreme Court case fruit bus" and got like 30 different results, none of which were what I was thinking of. So yeah, I'm still lost, but at least I'm not alone in this mess lol.

Honestly just google the key words you remember from the case. Tbh the name doesn't even matter that much if you can find the right details. Ngl I've been there trying to remember a case and the year or the main issue is way easier to track down. Once you find one fact you can usually piece it together from there. It's way faster than stressing over the exact title.
