Spent $40 on a 'Free Speech' t-shirt and got escorted out of the quad
Honestly, I wore it to a campus event and a dean said it 'created a hostile environment'. The shirt just had the First Amendment printed on it. Has anyone else been told a plain text quote is too disruptive?

Remember the actual text matters. The First Amendment says "Congress shall make no law," not that private spaces like a quad can't have rules. A campus can decide a giant printed quote, even of the Constitution, disrupts their event. It's less about the words and more about the context you bring them into.

Wait, are you saying my big cardboard cutout of the Bill of Rights at the campus talent show wasn't protected speech? Because I honestly thought I was being super patriotic, not just super awkward. Guess I should have checked the "giant historical documents" policy first.
