The moment I realized campus free speech zones are a joke
I got told I couldn't hand out flyers about a student election in the quad at Ohio State last fall because it wasn't in the approved "free speech zone" near the library. Isn't the whole campus supposed to be for free speech, not just a 10x10 patch of concrete? Has anyone else had an admin pull this on them?

Used to think the zones were just overblown till I got shut down myself.

At Ohio State I just started handing out flyers anyway near the main entrance and when they told me to stop I pointed out the actual policy said "reasonable time, place, manner" which the quad totally is. Once I showed them the fine print they backed off.
