Thinking of my old poli-sci class where we debated everything.
Current students tell me those discussions would be banned now.

But is that really true? I mean, from what I've seen, poli-sci classes still debate a lot. Maybe some topics are handled with more care now, but idk if they're banned. It could be that students feel less free to speak up, but teachers I know say they try to keep talks open. Sometimes people hear about cancel culture and assume the worst, but in reality, most schools want debate. It's just that the rules for respect are clearer, which isn't the same as a ban.
