Tried to put up a small sign about a banned author talk... and it worked?

After the university in my town blocked a speaker on campus, a few of us printed maybe 50 simple flyers with just the author's name and the title of his banned book. We put them on bulletin boards around the student union early one morning... expecting them to be gone by lunch. A week later, over half were still up, and I saw three different people stop to take a picture of one. It made me realize sometimes the quietest pushback is the one they don't even notice to stop. Has anyone else had a tiny, simple action get a bigger reaction than they planned?

My buddy did something similar with just a stack of blank sticky notes on a "no postings" wall. By the end of the day, people had turned it into a full collage of doodles and messages.

Did anyone actually read the flyer or just take a picture of it like it was a meme?
