A guy told me my clipper work sounded like a swarm of angry bees

He was in my chair for a fade, and about halfway through he just said, 'Man, those clippers sound rough. Like a hive got loose in here.' I was using my old Oster Fast Feeds that I'd had for maybe five years. I checked the blades after he left and they were way out of alignment. I swapped them for a new set and the difference is night and day, much smoother and quieter. Anyone have a good method for keeping blade chatter to a minimum?

Wait, you went five years without checking the blades? That's wild.

That "way out of alignment" line got me. Buddy of mine had a table saw he used maybe twice a year for basic stuff. Never checked anything on it for close to six years. One day he's ripping some oak and the blade starts smoking bad. It was so far out of alignment the cut was curving. He said the blade guard was actually rubbing against the side of the wood the whole time.
