Fancy clipper oil cost me $45 for nothing

I bought this premium clipper oil last month from a barber supply shop in Denver. Paid $45 for this little bottle, thought it would make my blades last way longer. Turns out the cheap stuff from Walmart works exactly the same. Anybody else fall for the expensive tool care products?

The real trick with clipper oil is that the brand doesn't matter half as much as how often you actually use it... most people just buy the stuff and let it sit on the shelf. That $45 bottle probably does have some extra additives that keep the lubricant from gumming up over time, but unless you're oiling your blades every single use, you're never gonna notice a difference. The cheap stuff works fine as long as you apply it regularly and wipe off the excess before it gets sticky.

Gotta push back on this, @hannaht29. I've had cheap oil turn gummy on me mid-cut even when I was religious about applying it every time, while the pricier stuff never did that.
