Hit 500 straight days behind the chair without a no-show today

I've been cutting hair for about 8 years now, mostly in a small shop outside Columbus. Today marked 500 days in a row where every single appointment actually showed up or canceled at least 2 hours ahead. That's a big deal for me because I used to lose 3 to 4 slots a week to ghosting back in 2021. I started sending text reminders the night before with a simple "reply YES to confirm" message and it flipped everything. Has anyone else tracked their no-show rate and seen it drop with a specific system?

Have you thought about how the TYPE of reminder message might matter more than just the timing? I had a buddy who switched from "reply YES to confirm" to a message that just said "I saved you a seat at [time] tomorrow, see you then" and his no-show rate actually went UP because people felt less obligated to respond. The key was making the reply a COMMITMENT instead of just information. He went back to asking for a confirmation and his numbers dropped right back down. It's weird how the language changes how seriously people take it.

Did you set up an automatic system for those reminders or are you doing them manually every night? I started using a booking app that sends them out for me and my no-shows basically disappeared overnight.
