Hot take: feathering shears are way overused by newer barbers
I used to think blending shears were a cheat code, but after watching a guy destroy a client's texture in 30 seconds last Thursday I flipped hard. Got convinced when my mentor showed me how precision clipper work leaves way more natural movement. Anyone else see more harm than good from guys going crazy with chunkers?

Last Wednesday I watched a kid at my shop absolutely massacre some poor guy's already thin hair with chunkers. Took him maybe four snips and suddenly the guy looked like a molting bird. I've been there though - my first month barbering I grabbed blending shears thinking theyd fix my terrible fades, just made everything look like I let a goat chew on his head.

Gotta push back a little here @blake302, chunkers can actually be a lifesaver for adding texture if you know what you're doing. The problem isn't the tool itself it's folks grabbing them without understanding how the teeth remove bulk in a totally different way than normal shears or thinning scissors. A good barber can use chunkers to break up weight lines and give a natural look that blending shears just can't match.
