I used to think that was just hype... but the speed difference is real.

My old barber in Chicago swore by a basic fine-tooth comb for fades, said it gave him more control. I tried a wide tooth once and felt like I was fighting the hair, especially on the blend lines. For me, the speed comes from a comb I'm used to, not the type. A new tool can actually slow me down for a week while I get the feel for it.

Speed comes from a comb I'm used to, not the type" - that's the real truth right there. It's like how I can't switch from my favorite coffee mug without messing up my whole morning routine. I've noticed the same thing with everything really. My mom still uses this old wooden spoon from the 80s for her spaghetti sauce because she just knows how it feels. People think it's about the best tool but half the time it's just about what your hands already know.
