Rant: Bought a $200 'ergonomic' barber stool and my back is killing me

The seat cushion is way too firm and the backrest doesn't adjust enough, so I'm actually more sore now than with my old cheap one. Anyone have a stool they actually love for long days in the shop?

My chiropractor said those lumbar support pillows are a scam.

Honestly, I get where he's coming from. I mean, a generic pillow can't fix a specific back problem, that's just common sense. But the angle I never see talked about is how they can be a good tool for building a habit. Using one forced me to actually sit up straight at my desk, which I never did before. So maybe the real scam is thinking any pillow is a cure, when it's just a reminder to not slouch.
